Diversity in Democracy project

As a means of increasing young people’s engagement in politics in Wales, the Welsh Government is currently planning a ‘Diversity in Democracy’ project which will launch in September 2015. It gives young people the opportunity to be mentored and shadow a local government councillor for a 12 month period. They will be able to shadow the councillor to meetings and learn about the way in which local authorities work with an aim to giving them the knowledge and confidence to run an election campaign.
