CAFCASS Cymru advise Family Courts upon the best course of action for children in Wales, to ensure that the child’s needs and best interests are met.

Ideas Workshop - Young people wanted for a NEW Anti-bullying Network

Young people from your forum, organisation, project or school chose anti-bullying and hate crime as one of their six priorities to be taken forward by Young Wales. So we would now like to set up a young people’s Anti-bullying Network and to start with an “Ideas Workshop” to explore the key issues and discuss how the Network will work. It will have direct links to the Welsh Government’s All Wales Anti-Bullying Leadership Group, and will be supported by members of the Children in Wales Preventing Bullying Behaviour Group.

The Petitions Committee are currently holding a review of the National Assembly for Wales’ Petitions system. They want to know whether the amount of signatures is correct, should Assembly Members be allowed to submit a petition and whether there should be a minimum age to submit a petition.

Participation Workers update: MEIC

Meic is the first national advocacy, information and advice helpline of its kind providing children and young people with a single point of contact via freephone, instant messaging and text. Funded by Welsh Government, Meic has been fully operational as a 24/7 service since January 2011.

Discounted bus travel for young people

From September 2015, some 110,000 16, 17 and 18 year olds resident in Wales will be able to claim 1/3 discounts on their bus fares on journeys anywhere in Wales by local bus services or by TrawsCymru longer-distance services.

This is an early stage workshop to collect thoughts and ideas from young people towards the next 3 year delivery plan from Welsh Government called ‘Working together to reduce harm’

There will be more opportunities for young people across Wales to participate at later stages.
