Welsh Youth Parliament Report: Life Skills in the Curriculum
The Welsh Youth Parliament has published their very first report, an inquiry into life skills in the curriculum.
The report details the finding of their consultation on life skills in the curriculum, and makes a number of recommendations.
“Life skills are important to us, as it’s obvious there is a clear lack of them in our curriculum,” the Life Skills in the Curriculum Committee says in the report. The Committee was formed from 14 members of the parliament to conduct the consultation.
The consultation asked young people and adults to give their views on current life skills education.
The committee recommended that a more consistent, nationwide approach be taken to life skills education, that each school should have a like skills coordinator and there should be a Life Skills Commissioner to ensure standards across Wales.
