Welsh Government launches suicide and self-harm guidance for schools, 10/09/2019 [W]

The Welsh Government has launched guidance on self-harm and suicide for professionals working with young people and schools.

The Government launched the guidance on World Suicide Prevention Day, 10 September 2019.

The guidance focuses on early intervention and what to do when self-harm and suicidal thoughts among young people arise. It’s designed as a quick and accessible source for best practice and signposts to other sources of support and advice.

The guidance has been developed by the National Advisory Group (NAG) on suicide and self-harm. The NAG worked with young people, Mind-ED and other colleagues in the field, to produce the guide.

You can download copies of the guidance from the Welsh Government’s website.
