Children’s Commissioner for Wales Sets out Position Paper on Human Rights Education

Sally Holland, the Children’s Commissioner for Wales, has set recently published a paper outlining her position on Human Rights education in the new curriculum.

The Commissioner welcomes the Welsh Government’s commitment to reforming the education system, and expresses a desire to see human rights values and principles form a mandatory part of the new curriculum.

The paper explains the Commissioner’s view that human rights should underpin the basis of the new curriculum, define human rights education, identify the benefits of human rights education and map the integration of human rights across Welsh education.
