Eurochild seeks input from professionals working with young carers
Eurochild would like to hear from professionals working with young carers. The views will feed into EU action on young carers being prepared by the European Parliament Informal Carers Interest Group.
Secretary General, Jana Hainsworth, will represent Eurochild at a meeting between Eurocarers and the European Parliament Informal Carers Interest Group on 06 March 2018.
Eurochild would like to hear about the challenges and needs of young carers. A young carer is anyone under the age of 18 that provides significant or substantial care, assistance or support to other family members on a regular basis.
Eurochild notes that being a young carer can create several challenges for a child or young person, including missing school, their childhood or personal development.
